Cherry Blossoms and Popeyes

Will write a full entry when I have time (accidentally deleted the last entry after spending about 30 minutes on it!) about my wonderful day under the Cherry Blossoms and in Popeyes...

Aoki San and I (He is Popeye of Popeyes fame)

Down it in one my son (Drowning a pint of Divine Vamp 3, Popeyes house beer)

Had a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale under the Cherry Blossoms in Ueno (Look at the head!)

  1. Nice. If youget to ueno agian. u may want to try the happy hour 600yen offer at the warrior celt. old rosie or 1698 for 600 a pint is bloody great and a fantastic primer for the hanami feeling!
I take it you didn't go tot he thraszone hanami? After not advertising it until the day before, I popped in tonight and Koichi san said it was sosos. I'm thikning thye didnt get many people or it ewas too cold or the flowers weren't in ful bloom or maybe all of the above.5,000 was a bit steep. They should ahve advertised earlier and made it cheaper. Their problem. Do I sound bitter? REgret not goingtot he ushi tora event. Never mind. good to see you Sat.

  2. Cheers mate good to catch up too.Hope your feeling better. Yeah nah to be honest the fact that there was no advertising put me off...almost like he wanted as few people to come as possible. I think he needs to start a mailing list to let people know about these things. BTW dont forget to get yourself a Pliny while you can...goodness in a bottle!

  3. You look positively evil in that first pic.
Will go to Tanakaya tmrw. The passport office sint open today. Thrash didn't advertise cos they didn't want too many ofreigners coming and spoiling things by taking over in their loud ways, I expect. Locals only? By that I mean Japanese locals or foreigners who are seen as no threat. Maybe I'm being over the top. But it was shitty organising. Serves them right if it didn't rock.
